Welcome
Welcome to One Day One Piece!
I’m going to be reading one chapter of One Piece almost every day over the next two years until I’m caught up with the most current serialization in Japan, around August 2011.
Why am I doing this? Well, I’ve already read/watched the story up to the anime’s episode 167, but I did it so inconsistently that I feel I’m missing something of the whole experience, so I want to start over and re-read it from the beginning. That and I’m just not a fan of rushing or marathoning stories, since I tend to forget details when I do that.
But why a blog? Basically, I don’t want to do this alone. I assume most people who follow One Piece online are already reading the latest chapters, so I can’t just jump into forums to talk about the series. Instead, I’ll make a new blog post every day and write my reactions to that day’s chapter, and anyone interested can comment on my posts as I go along. It’s good for me, and good for you since you can vicariously re-experience the best parts of the series through me!
And, to start things off, I’m going to do one post for each of Eiichiro Oda’s early works throughout the day, leading up to the first chapter of One Piece and the start of my regular updates! It’ll go down like this (all times EDT):
- 7:00 AM — Wanted!
- 9:00 AM — Kami Kara Mirai no Present
- 11:00 AM — Ikki Yakou
- 1:00 PM — Monsters
- 3:00 PM — Romance Dawn, version 1
- 5:00 PM — Romance Dawn, version 2
- 7:00 PM — One Piece chapter 1, Romance Dawn – Bouken no Yoake
Starting tomorrow, new daily posts will be up everyday at 7 PM EDT. That said, you can see more details about my schedule over at the What is ODOP? page.
And enjoy One Day One Piece!
